Tinker House Events blends historic industrial architecture, warm hospitality, and flexible design in the heart of Indianapolis...
Tinker House Events brings together historic industrial architecture, warm hospitality, and flexible design in the heart of Indianapolis. Set above Provider Café on the near north side, our second-floor venue blends exposed brick, original beams, and sweeping windows with modern amenities and a thoughtful team behind every event.
An Industrial Loft with Heart at Tinker House Events
When you walk into Tinker House, the first thing you notice is the character. The venue sits inside a restored 19th-century building, with original brick walls, heavy timber beams, and tall windows wrapping the room. During the day, natural light floods the space; in the evening, the glow from custom lighting, candles, and the city outside sets a completely different mood.
This blend of historic architecture and modern comfort makes the room work equally well for wedding ceremonies, corporate receptions, nonprofit galas, and private celebrations. The layout is open, but intentional—easy to personalize with your own décor, while still feeling polished if you prefer a minimal setup.
The Custom Bar: A Natural Gathering Place
On the north side of the room, our custom-built bar acts as a natural gathering place. Guests tend to drift there between speeches, after dinner, and during transitions in the event. Rather than hiding the bar in a corner, we designed it as a focal point that supports the flow of the room.
The bar features live-edge shelving and detailed woodwork crafted by local maker Loran Bohall of Bohall Design & Fabrication. Above, custom rope lighting from Sheena Birt of Color Story Studio adds warmth and texture, making the bar feel like part of the experience— not just a service area.
Our in-house beverage program offers flexible options for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings—from beer and wine selections to full bar service and signature cocktails.
Windows, Light, and Downtown Views
One of the defining features of Tinker House Events is the wall of windows wrapping the space. They bring in soft natural light for ceremonies and daytime events, and at night they frame views of the up-and-coming downtown Indianapolis skyline.
For photographers, the windows are a dream: clean, consistent light, interesting architectural lines, and a backdrop that doesn’t need much styling. For corporate and nonprofit clients, the views create an energy that keeps a reception or networking event from feeling flat.

The Green Room: Bridal Suite & VIP Retreat
Just off the main event space, our “green room” functions as a private retreat for wedding parties, VIP guests, or speakers. The room features houseplants, vintage furniture, a custom light installation by Color Story Studio, and a sliding barn door crafted from reclaimed ash by Bohall Design.
On wedding days, it becomes a getting-ready suite and a quiet place to reset between photos and the ceremony. For corporate and nonprofit events, it works beautifully as a green room for presenters, a sponsor lounge, or a quiet space for leadership to regroup.
A Balcony with Café Lights & Skyline Views
Step out from the green room and you’ll find a small veranda, strung with café lights and overlooking the neighborhood and skyline. It’s a favorite spot for couples’ portraits, quick breathers during a busy event, and small breakout conversations.
During receptions and social events, the balcony acts as a natural extension of the room, giving guests a chance to step outside without leaving the party.
Downstairs at Provider Café
On the first floor of the building, Provider Café adds another layer of flexibility. By day, it’s a cozy neighborhood café; in the evenings, it transforms into an intimate space available for private events, after-parties, welcome receptions, and casual celebrations.
Many clients pair the two spaces—hosting a ceremony and reception upstairs at Tinker House, then inviting guests downstairs to Provider Café during cocktail hour. In warm weather, the spacious patio becomes a favorite area for cocktails, networking, and live music.
Designed for Weddings, Corporate Events & Community Gatherings
Versatility sits at the core of Tinker House Events. The same architectural details that make the space feel special for weddings also work beautifully for offsite meetings, fundraising events, product launches, and milestone celebrations.
Our team helps with floor plans, basic setup of included tables and chairs, AV coordination, and bar planning, so you can focus on your guests and your goals. Need support beyond what’s included? We work closely with a network of trusted partners—from caterers and planners to florists and production teams—to help bring your vision to life.
Whether you’re imagining a candlelit wedding ceremony, a high-energy corporate reception, or a community celebration, the combination of industrial character, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality is what keeps guests coming back to Tinker House.
